FREDERICK DAVID SASSOON, on leave.
The Committee meet this day at the request of the Acting Colonial Secretary.
The Minutes of the last Meeting, held on the 7th instant, are read and confirmed. Read the following Minute of His Excellency the Officer Administering the Government:--
The Officer Administering the Government recommends the Council to vote the sum of $700 for the erection of a mat-shed as a temporary Police Station at the Peak. The Military Authorities having now withdrawn the objection raised in 1883 to the building of a permanent Station at this spot, it is in contemplation to construct a Station later in the year; but, as it is necessary to provide Police protection during the summer months, a mat-shed will have to be erected at once.
Government House, Hongkong, 21st April, 1886.
The Committee recommend that the amount should be voted.
The Committee then adjourn sine die.
Read and confirmed this 4th day of May, 1886.
AMATTOON SETHI, Clerk of Councils.
FREDERICK STEWART,
Chairman.
